Understanding Durability: The Frontier of Fatigue Resistance

Durability: The Deciding Metric in Long Races

Two athletes may both possess an identical Functional Threshold Power (FTP) of 300 Watts in a fresh state. However, after expending 2,500 kJ of work during a grueling race, Athlete A can still produce 280 W, while Athlete B drops to 230 W.

This capacity is termed Durability or Fatigue Resistance.

How Ability.ICU Analyzes Durability

Our analytics engine compares your power-duration curve across work thresholds (0–1000 kJ, 1000–2000 kJ, and >2000 kJ) to highlight where your performance degrades and identify physiological limiters.
